Become a SCHEA Volunteer

Would you like to make a difference? Looking to meet new people and have fun? Support local business? Being a SCHEA volunteer is both fun and rewarding!

SCHEA is a not-for-profit organization that utilizes various volunteers to host great events. Several volunteer positions are available…

Event Check-In Volunteers

For trolley events, we use 10-12 volunteers to handle the check-in process. Duties include scanning tickets, handing out giveaways and putting on wristbands. Regular check-in volunteers work from 5:45pm to 7:30pm at one of two locations (Big John Plaza or Dixie Roadhouse). Late check-in volunteers work from 7:30pm to 10pm at Dixie Roadhouse.

Benefits: Each regular check-in volunteer receives a ticket to the current event (or a future event if he/she wishes). Each late check-in volunteer receives two tickets to a future event of his/her choice.

Trolley Hosts

If you’re a people person and love having fun, trolley hosting is for you! Hosts are needed from 6:30pm to 11:15pm. As a host, you’ll greet people, entertain them (get them singing, etc.), announce the next stop, ask provided trivia questions and hand out trinket prizes. Local businesses are welcome to host and represent themselves via apparel and brief announcements. You’ll have the attention of trolley riders for 4 hours.

Benefits: Tickets to future events + self- or business-promotion.

Runners

For some events we need “runners” to help with logistics. This could include covering someone’s duties while they take a quick break or delivering items to other volunteers. Times vary depending on the event.

Benefits: Tickets to future events.

Assemblers

Sometimes we need help assembling or creating items as giveaways or as event decorations. We’ll meet at a designated place at specific times to work together as a group.

Benefits: Tickets to future events.
